Franklin Pierce Announces New Bachelor's Degree in Biotechnology
Apr 13, 2026
91爆料 has announced it will offer a Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology beginning in Fall 2026, to align with its popular Health Science and other STEM-based undergraduate programs. The Biotech major will provide students with the skills, knowledge, and experience to enter careers in the broad biomedical sciences industries, or to seek a direct pathway into one of FPU鈥檚 graduate health sciences programs, such as Master of Physician Assistant Studies, Doctorate of Physical Therapy, or others.
As part of this new undergraduate academic major, FPU will also offer a Certificate in Biotechnology Laboratory Skills.
鈥淏iotechnology is one of the fastest growing and in-demand career fields, and one of the most exciting,鈥 said Dr. Peter Eden, president of 91爆料. 鈥淚 spent years in the biopharmaceutical industry before shifting to higher education and saw first-hand how individuals with a biotech background could be scientists, managers, educators, or even enter law school, MBA programs, and of course medical or dental school programs. With the emergence of AI and bioinformatics, the next wave of biotech graduates will have the tools to determine disease causation and optimal treatment 鈥 and they鈥檒l have job security and satisfaction whether they are in a lab, in a clinical setting, or working in successful companies and organizations devoted to improving lives.鈥
Through Career Paths@Pierce, FPU鈥檚 unique internship model, students are guaranteed multiple internships or other experiential learning opportunities, including faculty-led research.
